As summer 2013 draws to a close and Autumn is upon us, I find myself reflecting on one of my busiest and most interesting years. This year seems to be passing by so quickly so I am reminded daily of the benefits of mindfulness and meditation practice.

In this issue find out about:

  • The publication of my study
  • Mindful self-compassion training for 2014
  • Poynton Health forum September 21
  • Workshops for October 2013
  • My new clinic at priorslegh medical centre
  • Recommended reading and ‘useful websites’ links
  • The latest workshops and Meditation classes at Blythe House hospice.

Publication of my study

My MSc thesis has recently been published as an article entitled “ A study of participation in a compassion-focused, therapeutic well-being programme – cancer patients’ experiences of a well-being programme which focuses on compassion for self and others” in the BPS North East branch Spring 2013 newsletter. I have added a précis of the study on my website which you can access HERE.

Mindful self-compassion training 2014

I have had the greatest privilege and pleasure of completing two intensive courses up on HOLY ISLE with professor Kristin Neff and Dr Christopher Germer You can access a selection of their wonderful guided meditations which are free to download HERE. I use them daily and can highly recommend them.

Next year I will complete the MSC teacher training with Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer and will then be one of the very first in the UK to have the privilege of running their  8 week Mindful self-compassion programme. This programme is evidence based on the clinical research undertaken  by Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer.

I will be running the course in various locations and will be offering this to charitable organisations, teachers, and as corporations, and the wider community. I will update you as when venues and dates can be confirmed. If you are interested in attending the course please indicate your interest and send me an email via my contact page.

I will also be running specific workshops and courses next year on mindful self-compassion approaches to well-being for ME/CFS/Fibromyalgia. If you are interested in attending any of these please indicate your interest by emailing me via my contact page.
