Hello and welcome to my March newsletter 2019

March 2019  – A fond farewell to my Chinley practice and clinical home since 2006. Time to say with much love and gratitude- a fond farewell as I move to pastures new, and new beginnings in Cheshire- letting go with gratitude.

I do hope this Spring morning finds you well and happy and continuing to work with and move towards the goals you may have set at the beginning of the year. No worries if not, there is always room for change, and change can happens so quickly as life is fluid and time moves at its own pace as life unfolds with it joys and challenges!
On that note, I realise we are mid way through March already but I have held off until now as I have some important news I want to share and I am dedicating this newsletter to everyone in Chinley and the High Peak.
The Green Chair – a personal message 

To everyone who has sat in the comfy green chair and worked with me over the past fourteen years.
I thank you for the honour and privilege of working with you. I have loved serving you, helping you, supporting you, empowering you, and having the enormous privilege of engaging in some of the most rewarding therapeutic relationships.
The many cards I have received over the years serve as a reminder that this is my life’s work and my soul’s purpose – being in service to support others is the rent I gratefully pay for the joyful gift of life on this beautiful planet earth I wake up to every day.
A special note and date for your diary! 
My final day of clinical appointments will be on Monday 25th March , so if you require an appointment/ would like a ‘top up’ and wish to see me there one last time, please get in touch before Saturday as I have a few slots I can offer: 12.30pm, 2.00pm,3.00pm, 4.00m –  there may be a couple more earlier on but my last one has already been taken.

Moving forward where can you see me? 
For those of you who wish to continue with me – I hope you will – You can come and see me at Priorslegh in Poynton, my clinics in Macclesfield at Park Lane, and The Regency hospital (add in links and photos), the Brookdale clinic in Knutsford,  and of course my new practice when it opens in mid- April
The High peak is a close nit and supportive community. I have dearly loved Chinley and the High peak  

Many of my newsletters over the years have opened with a photograph of the beautiful nature that surrounds it.
The friends I have made and the good memories I have will stay in my heart forever.
Please know, as I have already told Bill and June (my wonderful landlords and the owners of 18a) I have dearly loved every hour I have spent at 18a Green lane and it became a part of who I am. So, to let go is not easy. I have held on as long as I could, but, as many of you know, my husband and I moved over the border into Cheshire in November 2016 to be nearer to family. Sadly, in that time we have lost two of the most important people in our lives.
However, we still have close family who we love dearly and are building our lives and our practices in Cheshire.
This is not such a big transition for me as I have had a clinical presence in Macclesfield since 2002. I also have a clinical practice in Poynton and have done for a number of years now – this is easily reachable from the High peak with the opening of the new bypass! ? and I will be here for some time. So do come and see me there!
I also offer skype as I have an international clientele, and this works well, especially if you have already met me and worked with me.
So, it is with much sadness, but with equal measures of gratitude that I am closing the doors of 18a Green Lane for the last time on the evening of March 25 2019.
The green chair and I are moving to a new home in Cheshire. Details to follow in my April newsletter!

But a piece of my heart will always belong to the people of Chinley.

Willersley Mindful self-compassion weekend retreat

What’s new!

As you know, I have the enormous privilege of being the chair of the board of trustees for the UK’s leading and multiple award- winning anxiety charity. Auk is at the forefront of supporting and helping those with anxiety and anxiety related disorders, providing access to essential resources 24/7 to everyone, especially those who might not otherwise receive the help they desperately need in any given moment . Auk ‘s Ceo and the team work tirelessly and selflessly and are dedicated to providing the most accessible and affordable services .
I am going to be offering a number of workshops and events over the coming months at AUK HQ in the heart of the north west in Manchester to raise awareness about stress and anxiety and the benefits of mindfulness and self- compassion, meditation.

The Mindful Self compassion programme is waiting for you!

To build resilience and emotional strength, The Mindful self-compassion training next dates for 2019 will be published shortly and will take place in Mid-cheshire.
It is good to remember and be drawn to the fact that in amidst the pain and suffering there is always light and enduring beauty when we look mindfully and with gratitude for all that we love that surrounds us in each present moment, all that we accomplish, and all that this precious human life we are given can enjoy.
All MSC courses will now take place in Mid Cheshire and  South East Cheshire dates and times will be out shortly and I will be taking bookings.
The original ‘six weekly gathering’ will continue to be held at Disley Quaker meeting in East Cheshire which borders with the High peak. Other gatherings will take place in South Cheshire also as the year progresses.

Next workshop April 3 2019 “Sleeping well”

IMPORTANT; Don’t forget the clocks go forward for British summertime to begin  this Mothering Sunday March 31 so if this throws your sleep pattern out every year -come along to my workshop! This is for you!

I am aiming to take this forward into Priorslegh and other East Cheshire GP practices and I am in the process of writing to the  practice managers to see if we can offer this to their patients – so if you are in Macclesfield, Knutsford, Alderley, Chelford, or Congleton then these workshops may be offered at your local GP practice with some look and positive goal setting intentions.

Other courses to look out for: ‘Emotional resilience’, and ‘Mindful compassion for well-being’ ‘New unique programmes of 4 week-weekly  training and personal development  incorporating the latest research based approaches including ‘compassion and mindfulness’ and imaginal exposure’ for valuable and lasting lifestyle changes and well-being.
I have found that motivation and intention are powerful instigators of positive lifestyle change and I found this article on ‘the science of achieving your goals’ interesting and thought I would share it here with you again.
