As an integrative therapist since 1998, I began my training in counselling skills at St Helens College. Seeking a more ‘dynamic approach to therapy’ I went on to train in Eriksonian Hypnotherapy; Psychotherapy; Counselling; Cognitive Therapy; and Neuro- Linguistic Programming at The National School of Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy (N-SHAP), Regents Park College, London. Annette qualified as a hypno-psychotherapist in 1998. Becoming an ‘advanced hypno-psychotherapist in 2000.
I hold an MSc with merit in Consciousness and Transpersonal Psychology and a BSc (hons) in psychology.

‘Trained mindful self compassion programme teacher’
I am privileged to have trained under Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer the founders of the MSC programme and The Centre for Mindful Self-Comassion and became one of the first cohort of european trained teachers in July 2014. I became eligable to teach the programme and completed supervision to achieve ‘trained mindful self-compassion teacher’ status and I am registered on the Healthcare professional directory for the Centre for Mindful Self Compassion.
All aspects of my work are important to me and have my full focus when working with a particular aspect/client.
I offer individual therapy in Twemlow, Cheshire where I run a busy private practice in Room 7 at The Old Fuel Depot Business Centre, Twemlow Lane, Twemlow, Nr Holmeschapel, Cheshire, CW4 8GJ
I also offer a clinic at Park Lane consulting rooms in Macclesfield, Priorslegh Medical centre,Poynton and The Regency Hospital in Macclesfield. Please note these clinics are currently closed due to covid restrictions as of 25 /9/20-I am centering my focus on Twemlow now.
As a trained Mindful Self Compassion teacher, I now regularly teach the Mindful Self Compassion programme. I also run relaxation master classes, well-being workshops and seminars for corporate and community, and, offer a full well-being service to corporate clients wishing to bring therapy ‘in-house’ to support staff well being.
As a UKCP registered Hypno-psychotherapist I offer my services as an emotional well-being and stress management consultant and integrative therapist, offering a combination of Clinical Hypnotherapy, Cognitive therapy, Psychotherapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming, and Counselling. Therapy is brief, dynamic and solution focused, using the principles of transpersonal and positive psychology.
I became registered with the Minnesota Institute of Advanced Communication skills after completing 13 hours of Continuous Professional development for the AHH-sponsored OCD and Anxiety Disorders masterclass by Devan Hastings in March 2010.
My specialist interests include: Anxiety, OCD – Obsessive Compulsive disorder– using a combination of Cognitive behavioural counselling and Hypnotherapy, based on the work of Professor Jeffrey Schwartz and the 4 step programme; performance enhancement and achievement; stress management, confidence, self-esteem, Alcohol problems, Insomnia, Motivation.
A phenomenological study of experience of participation in an eight-week compassion focused, therapeutic well-being programme. This became a published article in the Spring 2013 edition of the North East branch magazine for the BPS.
I completed a one year training with the mindfulness association in 2013 and am currently completing the compassion module of the five-year training scedule with the mindfulness association.
I have been regularly heard on local radio stations such as Silk FM, Capital Radio, High Peak Radio, and Radio Derby, and more recently I have had 2 one hour programme interviews on Radio Woking on the Sunday morning show “The view from Here”. As a full member of The United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists (UKCP) The Complementary and Natural Health Care Council (CNHC), a fellow of the national Society for Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy (FNSHP), and the Hypnotherapy Association, a strict code of conduct and ethics bind me, and in meeting all registration requirements. This includes continued professional development and regular clinical supervision.
I was formerly on the chair of the board of trustees for Anxiety UK and I am a keen advocate of their work.

I offer mindfulness and compassion-focused courses and workshops for ME/CFS/Fibromyalgia/stress management/Eating well/Sleeping well.
Self -care core skills (incorporating mindfulness and self-compassion) helping people to form healthy habits and strategies for eating well, exercising, sleeping well, and getting the work-life balance right.
Compassionate and effective communication – working as a team, valuing ourselves and the work we do so we can ‘own our contribution’, acknowledging our own and each -other’s achievements, recognising and respecting individual differences.
