A bit of background
Diet is not just about managing weight, it is concerned with getting enough of the right nutrients such as essential fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals to promote the efficient functioning of the brain, improve energy levels, enhance quality sleep, and increase hormonal balance, as well as keeping inflammation in check and the body in homeostasis.
Recent research increasingly points towards the most important nutritional support our body requires for optimal health is a diet free from unnecessary sugar and a more alkaline diet. It is not a question of will power-sugar is known to be at least 8 times more addictive than cocaine…and its in everything-hidden away in sauces, drinks-in fact almost anywhere, including bread.
However, eating well and being able to prepare easy nutritious meals is not the whole story for positive weight management. I will be talking about stress engagement and emotional eating and how to develop a healthier relationship with food, so that you eat only when you’re hungry and listen to your body. The workshop will have an experiential element with some mindfulness-based strategies and practices as well as education and Q and A.
